Onko sill\u00e4 v\u00e4li\u00e4 mit\u00e4 me sy\u00f6mme? Eik\u00f6s se ole meid\u00e4n oma valinta, mit\u00e4 me suuhumme laitamme? Asia ei ole aivan noin yksinkertainen kuitenkaan. Joka kerta, kun ostamme itsellemme ruokaa, teemme p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksen monien muiden puolesta.<\/p>\n

Suuri osa Suomessa myyt\u00e4v\u00e4st\u00e4 ruuasta on riippuvainen muualta maailmasta tulevasta rehusta tai on suoraan tuotu muualta meille. Mutta miksi se olisi ihmisoikeusasia? Miten kalan sy\u00f6minen olisi kenelt\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n pois?<\/p>\n

Ne kalat, mit\u00e4 marketeissa myyd\u00e4\u00e4n, on isojen yritysten kalastamaa kalaa, joka on troolattu isoilla kalastusaluksilla. Ongelma noissa isoissa aluksissa, kalojen liikakalastuksen lis\u00e4ksi, on se, ett\u00e4 niill\u00e4 vied\u00e4\u00e4n paikallisten ihmisten elinkeino ja ruoka. Somalian merirosvoista iso osa on entisi\u00e4 kalastajia, joilta l\u00e4nsimainen ruokavalio ja kulutus on vienyt ruuan pois p\u00f6yd\u00e4st\u00e4.<\/p>\n

L\u00e4nsimaiden runsas lihankulutus on my\u00f6s suuri ekologinen ja humanit\u00e4\u00e4rinen uhka. Jatkuvasti kasvavan kulutuksen takia ihminen raivaa yh\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n sademetsi\u00e4, vieden kodin alkuper\u00e4iskansoilta ja el\u00e4imilt\u00e4. Vain sen takia, ett\u00e4 voisimme sy\u00f6d\u00e4 yh\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n lihaa.<\/p>\n

Suklaa, kahvi, riisi ja useat muut ruokalajit ovat sellaisia, joiden tuotanto suurella mittakaavalla on tuotettu eritt\u00e4in ep\u00e4eettisiss\u00e4 olosuhteissa. Reilun kaupan tuotteet ovat parannus t\u00e4h\u00e4n, niiden suosio saisi vain olla isompaa.<\/p>\n
